Our Club was founded in 2021. The club is named after the late Mr Pedro Booyse.

The Club was founded in October 2019 with the goal of supporting adult players.
Over the years, Clanwilliam Secondary School has produced many talented chess players, but they often disappear from the game after graduation.
Our mission was to provide a platform for these players to continue competing. At that time, our slogan was:
“The end of your school journey doesn’t automatically mean the end of your chess journey.”
Our club was started in 2023 by Natasha Opperman along with her son, Matthew.
This was done in conjunction with Jon Kilroe-Smith, at a time when chess players in Langebaan (younger and older) needed a place to meet up and enjoy the game of chess.
Our meeting place of Club Mykonos is a central venue for people from all walks of life to get together. Some of our chess players are very involved in competitive chess; others only play socially.
We welcome all new players who would like to join our chess club!
Our chess club launch September 2023. Genesis Chess Club is a non-profit organization that is situated Vredenburg area, the geographical area we service as follow:
Ward 2: Witteklip/Hopland (Vredenburg)
Ward 8: Vredenburg North, Green Village & Langebaan Air Force Base.
Ward 9: (Ongegund) Vredenburg
Ward 10: Vredenburg South & Part of Louwville
Ward 13: Yskor, Selfbou & Part of Louwville (Vredenburg)
Our club was established in 2015 as the official club if the St. Helena Bay Primary School.
In years to come, the club membership grew to and players from other schools as well as adult players joined.
Our club celebrates it's 10th birthday this year and has been a beacon of hope for many players in difficult circumstances.
Deep Blue Chess club started in 2010, the first chess club in the West Coast. Founder Basil Ellman with the support of Nathan Kamalie and John Le Fleur.
Club was established in 2023, so is still experience growing pains. We started with only 4 playes.
The past few months we gain but also lost some of the players. We are constantly reaching out and try to recruit new players.
