The purpose of this Chess blog is to keep our players and interested parties up to date with what is going on in the world of chess in the West Coast and broader chess events, that impact on us, during this lock down period of Covid 19. I think it is appropriate to remember those known to us as well as unknown people who have tragically succumbed to the Corona virus. We also remember our own members from the chess fraternity who passed during this time and pray that their families and friends will find the solace they need. This blog will also keep alive the memory of players, like Eldo Smart, Robert ‘Bobby’ Fischer, Paul Morphy etc.

Hopefully this will become a platform where we can exchange views and ideas on improving ourselves as coaches, our players and even our own ability to play better chess.

Any ideas and or comments will be appreciated as long as it does not deviate from chess. Till next time, burn the chess candle on both ends.
